Today I went to the NDP riding association for the riding next to mine (where I worked during the Provincial Election campaign). I can’t exactly run for possitons on that riding executive since I don’t live there, but I got to meet people from the campaign and the MPP I worked for, and he still remembers me YAY! He hugged me as soon as he saw me! I asked him about a job I REALLY want, and he said he’ll put in a good word for me…but they’re looking for someone with a lot of campaign experience. Sooo doubtful I will get this job, but at least I’m networking and he can keep me in mind for other stuff.

Next weekend is my riding’s meeting, and I’m going to run for the youth representative position on their executive. Also, I finally bought my ticket for the Federal Leadership Convention March 24th-25th in Toronto! Wooooo! It’s going to be at the Metro Convention Centre…last time I was there was last May at Jack Layton’s Election night party, when he became the Leader of the Official Opposition. So as British Columbia MP Jinny Sims said, it will be bittersweet. She made an amazing and passionate speech at the meeting today, lots of angst towards the Conservatives. She said they don’t care about Canadians but rather international corporations. She said in Jack’s final letter was a “call to arms” for Canadians to protect our values and what the NDP fights for, which is what I’m doing.

I was really happy I got to continue networking today, I want to work for the NDP more than anything. I know I’m on the right track, I just need to keep trying!
